Antidote : le jeu, a French-Language Trivia Game

Druide informatique is pleased to announce the launch of Antidote : le jeu, a brand-new, French-language, printed card game featuring 500 general-knowledge trivia questions. Sold alone, the game comes beautifully packaged in its own box; it’s also included as a bonus in every boxed package of Antidote, the company’s comprehensive writing assistance software.

Druide is branching out from software and book publishing into a new market: parlour games. Antidote’s creators have drawn on its expansive dictionaries to come up with entertaining questions and eye-opening answers that appeal to the widest possible audience.

Created with people aged 12 and over in mind, Antidote : le jeu consists of 100 cards. Each card features five general knowledge questions, divided into five categories: Embarras du choix, Avis de recherche, Anagramme, Coup double et Expression corporelle. While having fun is the primary objective of the game, you’re guaranteed to learn a new word or an intriguing expression.

Cooperation takes centre stage. Up to ten people form two teams to play matches lasting from 30 to 60 minutes. The microsite www.antidote.info/le-jeu provides downloadable resources, including a sheet of variations on the rules explaining how to play in pairs and in the classroom. For in-depth answers, take a look in the Antidote application’s dictionaries.

Antidote : le jeu launches at the same time as Antidote 12, a major new edition of the software that leverages the power of generative artificial intelligence to help users enhance their writing. Read our press release outlining the application’s most exciting new features to find out more.

You can buy the game from a number of Canadian resellers for the suggested retail price of $29.95. For a limited time, it also comes free inside boxed Antidote+ Personal ($59.95) and Antidote+ Family ($99.95) packages.

Druide informatique has been specializing in artificial intelligence and computational linguistics since 1993. The company produces and markets Antidote, the most comprehensive writing assistance software available for English and French, as well as Typing Pal, the renowned typing tutorial application. In addition to its software, Druide also publishes French-language literature and reference works through its subsidiary, Éditions Druide.
